How to Turn Your Windows into the Room’s Focal Point

As a decorative element, your windows are usually only considered in improving your home’s frontage. The same windows, however, can serve as focal points in your room if you know how to utilize your living space’s design. Renewal by Andersen® of Montana explains.

Decorate Your Room Around the Window

The easiest way to turn your existing windows into a focal point is to simply decorate your room around them. Casement windows, for example, feature very large glass panes that can easily become the focal point of your room, with the visuals from the outside serving as a wall decoration of sorts. We suggest moving your furniture around and using it to frame the window, turning it into a focal point.

A Custom Window Makes a Difference

Most homeowners tend to decorate around the window to turn it into a focal point. While this is a great idea, it can clutter your room.

In this case, we suggest you install custom windows in your living spaces. These speciality windows are aesthetically designed and boast different frame shapes and styles, adding visual interest to your room. The most popular custom window design is the arch style. Contrary to its name, you don’t have to make any adjustments to your old window space as the framing is what gives this style its distinct look. Circle and triangle windows are also great choices, or you can simply choose a custom framing with an aesthetic that match your home’s architectural style.

Window Aesthetics and Fittings

Never underestimate the ability of something as simple as window drapes or curtains to radically change the aesthetics of your window and your space. Your choice of window dressing depends on your taste, but as a general rule, you want to make sure that they fit with your living space’s existing design scheme.

Stick to modern window fittings if you have a contemporary home and go with elegant and more intricate curtains if you have a traditional living space.
