4 Ways To Use Specialty Windows To Create Kitchen Backsplash

There are many styles of windows available for your consideration and some of the most overlooked units have to be specialty windows.

In this post, Renewal by Andersen® – Montana discusses the four different ways you can use specialty windows to create a backsplash in your kitchen.

  1. Glass Block – Glass block windows are often seen in bathrooms and for so long, a lot of homeowners thought that you can only use glass blocks in that specific room. What some don’t know, however, is that using glass block windows in your kitchen is a good way of adding sunlight to your space and providing you with privacy at the same time.

  1. Frosted – On the other hand, if you aren’t keen on using glass block windows for your kitchen, you can always have an average backsplash window frosted for privacy. Almost every custom window company offers frosted glass so it’s definitely a viable option if you want privacy and additional sunlight in your kitchen without using glass block windows.

  1. Operable – Most specialty windows used for backsplash are fixed, meaning they can’t be opened. However, you don’t have to limit yourself to non-operable windows as you can install various window styles that can open and close, such as casement windows. That way, you not only get the aesthetic appeal of the backsplash but extra ventilation for your kitchen as well.

  1. Extended Height – The traditional height for backsplash windows is 18 inches. That doesn’t necessarily mean you have to let this restrict you as it is possible to extend the height. That way, you can let in plenty of extra sunlight. Keep in mind, however, that your upper cabinets will have to go higher as well if you ever decide to extend the backsplash’s height.
